Everyone should consider Alpha ….. This is why…..
We all live such busy hectic lives, sometimes we just need to stop the world and get off! I recently had a tragic Loss, my sweet Godson and Nephew. He was a promising 29 year old…… gone way to soon from incurable Brain Tumor.
As I still struggle with his loss, I also struggled with God, and of course, my faith. Sitting in Mass one Sunday, Alpha was being “advertised ” and explained- I was intrigued. Could this give me at least some peace? At least some small sliver of Why???
Well…. It most certainly did. There was something about gathering to break bread and discuss all the aspects of our faith each week. I found I was becoming excited to see my new friends every Wednesday.
Every week there is a new theme, new discussions. All wonderful and thought provoking for me, in my journey to forgive God, since I had no one else to blame for my unbearable sadness. Through Alpha, I realized it is truly faith, your faith that brings you peace, and assists us through our struggles in our Daily Lives. -Mary Lou Britton
Our next Alpha series begins with a “Come and See” night on THURSDAY, JANUARY 31 at 7:00 PM at St. James church hall.
a “Come and See” daytime gathering on TUESDAY, JANUARY 29 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception church hall.
